Outfitted with 160 watts of output power (40 watts x 4) and a full-function CD player, the device is ideal for drivers who value reliability but don't have the money or inclination to invest in more expensive models. The CD player offers a nice array of features, including intro scan, repeat, and random play, in addition to standard skip and repeat track functions. Audio-wise, listeners can adjust the treble or bass, along with the right/left balance and front/rear fade. The CD player also offers an anti-skipping mechanism that protects playback should you hit a pothole, speed bump, or other obstacle.

As an alternative to CDs, the PLCD29 also plays your favorite AM and FM stations through its digital PLL tuner. The radio comes with 18 FM and 12 AM presets, with the option of either tuning them manually or automatically using the AMS button. As an added bonus, the unit includes an auxiliary input that connects to the 3.5 mm headphone jack of a portable audio device, letting you play an iPod or MP3 player through your car's stereo speakers.
